As summer is drawing to a close, so do weddings. And in their place come the excited Halloween party goers, and the Christmas Party invites. I have always been a creative person and absolutely love creating my own Halloween and party looks. Its literally like the face is a canvas, and the more wacky and crazy, the better! I never used to like how americanised the british has become with so many events turning into an over the top excuse to spend money, however Halloween is one of those yearly events i have certainly come to embrace. I love how everyone gets into the spirit and go all out for the party of the year. And i absolutely love being able to work my creative magic on them!
August has been such a wonderful month full of beautiful warm sunny mornings and perfect for a british summer wedding. I get asked a lot if i mind getting up at such crazily early times (I'm used to it having a 6 year old!) so a 5am start doesn't bother me too much at all - especially in the summer when you get to see the sun coming up outside a beautiful hotel whilst you're getting an excited (and mostly nervous) bride ready for her big day.
I am loving all things Prom at the moment! It takes me back to when i was at school getting ready for mine. Although mine wasn't quite as successful as some of these fabulous proms I've been invited to makeup for. Getting locked out my parents house when i should have been doing the incredible transformation i had planned out for so many weeks. And instead rushing to get ready in half an hour with the help of my wonderful mum. This month though, the girls have been fully organised and all look incredible in their stunning frocks and glamorous Hair and Makeup!
June is definitely wedding season! Ive been so busy with trials, which I love - helping to create a beautiful look for a bride on their big day. Each trial and bride is so individual, which i just love! And gives me a wonderful insight into the bride and her life, over a cuppa (or a fizz!)
May has been incredibly busy for me with Wedding trials. Which is great, as I really enjoy being part of these first moments of my clients wedding preparations. Trials are so important for a bride-as well as her mother and bridesmaids. It really helps to know you will be getting exactly the look you want on your big day, and just means that on the day everyone is much more relaxed and at ease! And it's also great to meet my ladies to have a coffee and a chat, and get to know each other before the wedding morning!
April has seen me spending most of my time building my website - something which has been a real labour of love!
I find it very difficult to let someone else take control of certain things and that includes anything creative...so I decided to build my own website myself. Something I have really enjoyed doing, as it has also allowed me to re visit some of the wonderful weddings I have been involved with in the past, but also it has allowed me to be able to have full creative control over every aspect (who knew what side to put a Facebook logo on would stress me out so much??)
I have also had a lot of wedding trials this month on the run up to a busy June, July and August for weddings. I always enjoy trials-especially group trials, as its such a great opportunity to meet the lovely brides in person, and to hear all about the outfits and about the decisions they have made in the run up to their wedding.
